Constants and Irepress – CANCELLED!

“Hello! The two bands have decided to not continue their Europe tour due to different problems they had on their tour so far. “

The USA based bands Constants and Irepress will play live in Bucharest on December 12th at Control Club.

Another four concerts are scheduled in Romania, on December 8th in Cluj-Napoca @ Flying Circus Pub, Daos Club in Timisoara on the 9th, in Craiova on the 10th @ Dream On Club and on 13th in Brasov @ Rockstad.

Constants is a post-hardcore/post-rock/shoegaze band from Boston, MA. In 2005, the band released their second album “The Murder of Tom Fitzgerril” and toured the United States for ten months straight in 2006 in a 66 passenger school bus converted to run on waste vegetable oil, becoming strong proponents of sustainability.

Jon Hassell (ex-Seneca) was added as a second guitar player, and stayed on as a full-time member for some time after. In early 2008, the group enlisted Rob Motes (ex-The Coma Recovery, The City is the Tower) and the band released a split 7” with fellow Boston post-rockers Caspian. Later that spring, guitarist Jon Hassell left the group to focus on his career in film; the band decided to continue on as a trio.

The band recently finished recording their 2nd full length “The Foundation, The Machine, The Ascension” that will be available June 2009. The Japanese version of the record includes remixes by Justin K Broadrick (Jesu) and Philip Jamieson (Caspian)

Will, guitar/vox
Orion, bass
Rob, drums

Irepress (pronounced ear-press) is a 5-piece self-proclaimed disco metal band from Sharon, Massachusetts, U.S.A. They began in 1997 as a very heavy six-piece sludge metal band fronted by two alternating vocalists, Jarrett and Shomik, who switched between growling, singing, and screaming. They released a full-length, H.A.V.O.C., and an untitled 3-song demo referred to as Ghrintoure Be in 2001.

After losing both vocalists due to college and other differences, Irepress has progressed towards a far different sound. As an instrumental band, their sound could be described as a sludge and post-rock -influenced brand of progressive rock. In 2005, they released an 8-song LP, Samus Octology. Jarrett has since rejoined the band.

Their current line-up is Jarrett, Benji, Shan, Sheel, and Dino, and in 2009 they released Sol Eye Sea I on Translation Loss Records
